Believe in Yourself

Believe in yourself, and you might tap into a potential you never dreamed you possessed! It took me a while to learn that lesson… Almost thirty years.

I've been writing stories, if only subconsciously, since I was a teenager. With the dawn of the computer age, circa 1995 in this home, those stories began to escape from my brain to the word processor, and, dang! if they hadn't been full-blown romance novels all along.

I forged on, in secret, suffering immense guilt over the state of our sanitary facilities. Eventually I found the courage to explain to my understanding (if not baffled) husband why the cats refused to go near the litter box. Next I sheepishly told a friend, who read the thing and claimed it kept her up all night; then my nephew found out, thanks to a rare lapse in my personal security system (a.k.a. "Hide the How-to Books"). I soon confessed to a few more friends, then my brother, and at last even my--Gasp--mother was informed of this frivolous sideline.

They, to a person, said "YOU GO GIRL!" each in his own generational style. My son was thrilled that "Mommy wrote a whole book" (even if it didn't have as many chapters as Moby Dick). I was delighted and deeply touched. They believed in me… why hadn't I?

One of my stories, The Hook, has won prizes in several publications, including Coffeehouse For Writers. Several of my poems have been published in a trade paper poetry anthology, TIDES OF THE HEART. Most recently, one of my essays, "Word Games", was chosen to appear in the March 2007 anthology, "Cup of Comfort for Parents of Children with Autism". Future happy news will be reported on my "What's New" page.

I continue to write paranormal and contemporary romances as well as short stories. In addition, I dare to dabble with a variety of articles, poetry, and humorous monologues. Some are best left in the bowels of win.tmp files, which eventually disappear, but others can be viewed elsewhere on this website.

On a more personal note, take a peek, if you dare, at the photo gallery, accessible only from this page.
